For this new edition of Roland-Garros, the French Tennis Federation (FTF) has decided to open the high stands of Court Simonne-Mathieu to all spectators during the first week of competition. The lower stands will obviously stay reserved for holders of a ticket for the Court Simonne-Mathieu, but the entire higher part will now be accessible in free seating (within the limit of available seats).

If you have a ticket for the Court Philippe-Chatrier or Suzanne-Lenglen, you can therefore go to the high stands of the Court Simonne-Mathieu in the same way as to the outside courts to watch all the matches during the day. To learn more about how to choose your match ticket, click here.

As a reminder, the Court Simonne-Mathieu opened its doors in 2019: a brand new court with a contemporary and elegant design, opened in the heart of the Serres d’Auteuil garden. What to live an intense moment of tennis in a green, peaceful, and lovely atmosphere. After its 4 years of existence, the FTF wanted to reduce the number of people in the Stadium in order to allow an even more pleasant experience for its spectators. Opening these high stands to everyone will free up 2,000 seats (previously sold as tickets in their own right), enough to offer a more intimate experience and make movement around the Stadium more fluid!

Opening hours

Concerning the Court Philippe-Chatrier, if you have a Day Session ticket, you will be able to access the Court Simonne-Mathieu and outside courts from 10 am. when the Stadium opens (matches start at 11 am) and until the end of the day ; and if you have a Night Session ticket, you can then access the Court Simonne-Mathieu and outside courts from 6:30 pm!

For Court Suzanne-Lenglen ticket holders, you can access the Court Simonne-Mathieu and outside courts all day, from the opening of the Stadium (from 10 am) to its closing!

Some testimonials about the Court Simonne-Mathieu

“I find it very successful, it’s magnificent. I love the fact that the court is in the greenhouses. It’s very green, very relaxing. You walk around the greenhouses and you can see the ground at the bottom. The court is perfectly integrated. The fact that it is surrounded by greenhouses accentuates this. When you are on the court you feel very close to the public, it is friendly and warm and the atmosphere is excellent. I would have liked to play there.” Mary Pierce, at the opening ceremony of the Court.

“It’s great to be the first to play on it. I trained on it this week, for a few days. (…) And it’s even better with the public. I like it a lot. It’s a very nice court. It’s not small. It’s really very comfortable, very cosy.” Garbiñe Muguruza, first winner in History on the Court Simonne-Mathieu.
